Scottish craft brewer BrewDog will invest in a new £25m brewhouse in Ellon near Aberdeen that will increase production capacity five times. £6m has been raised by a "crowd funding" initiative and £3m of that figure will go straight into the new brewhouse, which will have a capacity of 300hl. Carlow Brewing, Ireland's leading craft brewery, is investing more than 1 million euro in an expansion plan that will create 12 new jobs, including the brewing side. National brewing giant Marston's has paid £25.1 million for the brewing division of Daniel Thwaites of Blackburn, a family-owned brewery dating from the 19th century. The deal will give Marston's control of two leading ale brands, Wainwright's and Lancaster Bomber

The brewery has won a clutch of medals from the Society of Independent Brewers and offers a beer range that covers pale, gold and black and a strong stout that's a Riot to drink.
