Hops to get boost at major beer fest

Shepherd Neame, Britain's oldest brewer, based in the heart of the Kent hop fields, will unveil a special video dedicated to hops during Craft Beer Rising in London on 23-26 February. The video will feature Tony Redsell, the famous Kent hop farmer, and is shot at Parsonage Farm near Faversham

British beer writers honour Daisy Claeys

Daisy Claeys, who ran the legendary Brugs Beertje bar in Bruges for more than 30 years, was honoured on 3 February by members of the British Guild of Beer Writers who presented her with an engaved tankard that thanked her for inspiring "a generation of British beer writers". Peter Pan flies high with magic pale ale

The National Theatre's production of Peter Pan for the holiday period will be boosted by a special beer, Tink's Tiny Batch, that will be available in The Understudy pub on the South Bank and the theatre's bars and restaurants. The beer is brewed by Hammerton's in Islington and is based on its N1 American-style pale ale with the addition of Citra hops.

CAMRA calls for new direction on beer

CAMRA calls for new direction on beer

After many months of consulting its 183,000 members, CAMRA's revitalisation team has recommended a softening of the campaign's attitude to modern "craft keg" beers, which should be made available at beer festivals. The proposals, which will be discussed at annual meetings in 2017 and 2018, also call for greater support for tradtional cider and places community pubs at the heart of the campaign's work.
