The Jolly Angler in Reading was closed and boarded up by enterprise Inns. Now it's a flourishing pub free of the pubco tie. It was used as the launch pad for a major campaign that seeks a fair deal for tenants struggling with high prices and rents at the hands of the giant pubcos

Mulholland feted as campaigner of the year

Community action saves London music pub

The Ivy House in Nunhead, south London, which has featured such music stars as Elvis Costello and Joe Strummer, has been saved by local people after giant pub company Enterprise Inns sold it. An action group got backing from English Heritage, which listed the building, and financial support from the Architectural Heritage Fund

Wetherspoons to slash beer prices
