Oddbins No 7
Oddbins continues its range of beers with an Amber Ale brewed by the innovative Bristol brewery Wiper and True, founded in 2012. Oddbins says it was looking for a beer with depth and complexity using New World hops balanced by the biscuit and toffee characteristics of traditional malts.
No 7 is brewed with Golden Promise pale, Vienna, biscuit and caragold malts. The hops are El Dorado, Mosaic and Simcoe.
The 5.7% beer has a hazy bronze colour with an aroma of freshly-peeled hazelnuts, tobacco and cracker wheat biscuits with a good burst of peppery hops. Tangerine fruit appears in the mouth with spicy hops, biscuit malt and nuts. The finish is dry and hoppy with continuing notes of biscuit and lightly toasted malt and tangy fruit.
A 500ml bottle costs £3.20.
