As Christmas draws near, a number of breweries will stage such events as open days, brewery tours, beer tastings and choosing hampers at Chiltern Brewery (left). Meanwhile, Innis & Gunn in Edinburgh has put its entire workforce through an accreditation scheme with the Beer Academy, Otley Brewery in South Wales has opened a shop and a Cheshire pub has won plaudits. Truman's to return to East London
Twenty-three years after the giant Truman's Brewery in London's Whitechapel closed, two young entrepreneurs, James Morgan and Michael George-Hemus, have successfully raised the money -- with support from East Londoners -- to open a new Truman's brewery in Hackney Wick in 2013
