Tring Brewery was founded in 1992 and was the first new brewery in the town for 50 years. Founder Richard Shardlow had worked for Greene King, Ruddles and Devenish. He was joined by Andrew Jackson from Whitbread and the two still lead the team at the brewery.
A new 30-barrel plant was installed in 2010 at Dunsley Farm and capacity was increased again in 2016. The team use the finest English malting barley with pure water filtered through the Chiltern Hills. A larage range of beers is produced including the leading brands Side Pocket for a Toad and Teakettle Stout.
The brewery has a taproom called the Piggeries with 14 lines of beer and cider. It's open from Thursday to Sunday.
