Bohem Most, Bohem

Added: Tuesday, February 1st 2022

Style Pilsner ABV 4.5%

Bohem Most (4.5%)

Bohem is a brewery in Tottenham, North London, founded by two Czechs, Petr Skocek and Zdenek Kutr. When they moved to this country they were unimpressed with the lager beers they found here and they raised the funds to build their own plant where they use the finest raw materials and lager – cold condition – their beers for a minimum of five weeks.

Most is a new beer brewed in conjunction with Charles Faram, Britain’s leading hop merchants. Faram worked with hop growers in the Czech Republic to develop a new variety called Most. The name means bridge in Czech and the hop is used to “dry hop” the new Bohem beer. This makes it a bridge between ale and lager brewing, as dry hopping – adding hops for additional aroma and flavour following fermentation – is a practice used mainly by ale brewers.

Most has spicy hops, lemon fruit and toasted malt on the aroma. Malt dominates the palate but there’s a good balance of tart fruit and hops. The finish is tangy, bittersweet and quenching.

It’s a small batch beer so hurry to buy on line while stocks last: www.bohembrewery.com/onlineshop.

All the Bohem beers can be tasted in draught form at the brewery’s tap room at 120a Myddleton Road, London N22. It’s open 4pm-11pm (closed Mondays). The tap is close to Bowes Park train station and Bounds Green Underground.
