Legendary Yorkshire brewer Timothy Taylor, producer of the acclaimed Landlord pale ale in the heart of Bronte country, has launched its first beer in a can.
Hopical Storm (4%) is a triple hopped session pale ale with flavours of mandarin, mango and passion fruit. It was first launched as a cask beer, went in to keg and now into can.
Taylor’s chief executive Tim Dewey says: “This is a new approach for a brewery established in 1858 but one thing that’s never compromised is quality. Drinkers can be reassured they will enjoy ‘that taste of Taylor’s’ they have come to expect.”
Five English hops are used in three stages: Cascade and Whitbread Goldings Variety in the copper, Cascade and Chinook in the hop back following the copper boil, and dry hopped with Jester and Ernest following fermentation. The hops combine with natural Knowle Spring water that has percolated down from the Pennines, fine barley malts and Taylor’s unique yeast to create a tropical storm of aromas and flavours.
Hopical Storm is vegan friendly and is certified by the Vegan Society. It’s available in selected outlets of Booths, Ocado, Morrison’s, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose at £3 for a 440ml can.
