IPAs dominate World Beer Cup

India Pale Ale dominated the World Beer Cup held in Philadelphia, with American-style IPAs accounting for 275 entries, followed by Imperial IPAs with 181. American-style pale ales weighed in with 167 entries.
Awards were announced at a final dinner on 6 May where it was reported there had been a 38% increase in entries over the previous year, with more than 6,600 beers from 1,907 breweries entered from 55 countries. 253 judges from 31 countries handed out gold, silver and bronze awards.
