Beer gets on its bike to welcome Le Tour

Two of the country’s best known breweries -- Saltaire in Yorkshire and Dark Star Brewing in Sussex -- have joined forces for the second time this year with a collaboration brew. Le IPA has been created to celebrate the arrival of Le Tour de France – the world’s greatest cycle race – to Yorkshire.
Saltaire Brewery has brewed Le IPA to a joint recipe created with Dark Star – it’s an apricot coloured IPA style beer which has a good body and strong malt presence. French grown Triskel and Brewers Gold hops balance bitterness with fruity flavour which are further enhanced with the addition of coriander to add a creamy spicy depth. This highly refreshing ale is the perfect drink after a long bike ride or to enjoy while watching the cyclists pedal by as you cheer them on.
To kick start the Le Tour weekend activities Saltaire and Dark Star Brewing are to team up to host Le Grand Depart Beer Club on the 4 July at Saltaire Brewery, where Le IPA will be officially launched. There will also be a wide array of specially selected beers from other Yorkshire Breweries that will be showcased at the Beer Club.
“To truly embrace the desire to cycle, we will be offering the opportunity for a free pint and entry into a prize draw for anyone turning up to this special Beer Club with their bike and full lycra cycling kit on. This definitely will be a Beer Club to remember!” says Ewen Gordon, Saltaire’s Sales Director.
Le IPA has an ABV of 5.6% and is available in bottle, cask and keg.
