Castle Rock Wins Unique Beer Championship
Added: Sunday, August 1st 2010
Castle Rock brewery in Nottingham won a unique prize in the Champion Beer of Britain competition - it's the second time it has won the championship with Harvest Pale but in two different categories. In 2007 it won in the Bitter category and this year it entered in the new category of Golden Ale.
Castle Rock's win comes just two weeks before it opens a new brewery that will triple annual production to 20,000 barrels. The company, founded by former CAMRA chairman Chris Holmes, is breathing life back into a city ravaged by the closure of Hardys & Hansons, Home and Shipstones. Right: Roger presents the trophy.
