Style Porter ABV 14.0%

An Imperial Porter aged in bourbon barrels and infused with tamarind, chipotle chilli along with barley malt, wheat, rye and hops.

According to legend, tamarind trees harbour ghosts and as a result the trees are often found on the outskirts of villages to protect the inhabitants.

The beer started at 11% but reached 14% following long ageing in cask and the impact of the bourbon locked in the wood.

The beer has a ruby/brown/black colour and a massive hit of vanilla, molasses, liquorice, spice, burnt fruit, roasted grain, cobnuts, oak and whiskey with light hop notes on the nose. Spice, warming bourbon, bvanilla, rich malt, dark fruit and hops combine on the palate followed by a bittersweet finish with spice, vanilla, roasted grain and rich fruit, with a late hop note that leads to a dry finale.

£5.86 a bottle.
