Durham Beer Festival
CAMRA Durham organises the annual Durham Beer Festival, which is held in the week after the late August bank holiday. The 34th Festival takes place in August 2014, opening to the public at 6pm on Wednesday 27th until 11pm, then from 11am to 11pm on Thursday 28th to Saturday 30th. We are returning to our usual venue; the Durham Students’ Union building, Dunelm House, on New Elvet in Durham (postcode DH1 3AN). We are planning to have around 120 real ales and 30 ciders and perries as well as assorted wines and bottled beers. Food and soft drinks will also be available. The Festival is held each year to help finance the activities of CAMRA both locally and nationally in campaigning for real ale, community pubs and consumer rights. Staffing the festival is done by volunteers who carry out all sorts of tasks, from setting up and taking down to serving beer and selling tokens and glasses. The branch are grateful for all help received – the festival could not take place without such support.

Bromyard Hop Festival
The economic and cultural heritage of Herefordshire’s hop-growing industry has always centred on Bromyard, including Bishop’s Frome and the Frome Valley. In September 2011 Bromyard held its first Hop Festival and this was such a success it has now been added permanently to the town’s calendar and was repeated in 2012 and 2013, with estimated crowds of over 3,500. The day features the unique event - the Hop Pocket World Championship, part of a full day’s programme of events.

Faversham Hop Festival
This year is the 25th Anniversary of the Hop Festival, and we will be celebrating it in style. There will be the usual excellent selection of live music on our 3 stages, plus the Shepherd Neame stage, and the vibrant live music scene in the pubs around the town. We will also be featuring a wide range of Morris dancing, and other dance troupes.
